I think this page is my fav (71) it's really interesting, u guys should read it again (if u haven't already). Two of the sentences are really powerful they almost sum up the whole page. "'Billie Jo threw the pail,' they said. ' An accident,' they said. Under their words a finger pointed." and the other one is on pg.72, which I won't say because it makes no sense unless u know the rest of the page.
I think "Billie Jo threw the pail," Means that Even though it was an accident, They are still blaming Billie Jo. It's not really fair because wouldn't say that Bille Jo has many friends and they are blaming her for the death of her mom. This had an impact for Billie Jo and her father because when Ma died she was pregnant with what could have the boy that was what Bayard (the father) was looking for

Hey Daniel and Callia,
ReplyDeleteA really important scene that defines the book and characters. How when one decision Billie Jo makes determine the rest of her life. It just leaves you thinking how each of us everday makes those snap decisions and how it could turn out a different way.
Well Done
Mr. B
Right. I think it doesn't really matter that they said "an accident." because the meaning of what they said, cancels out the verbal meaning.
