ending of rules
After just finishing Rules by Cynthia Lord, I realized that the ending left me with new questions wandering in my mind. I also realized finishing the book felt like I was starting it all over again. What minor decisions will impact Catherine later on? Do her reactions to David ever change due to the experience of having Jason as a friend? I also wonder if she finds out that Kristi might not be the best friend for her? My last question is why is Jason hinting that his dream of being able to run is fading away and that he'd rather be himself? Somehow all those questions must relate to the thesis statement, but how? I think Catherine is unique herself because of the others around her that impact her because she lives in two different worlds. On page 200 when Cynthia Lord wrote (in Catherine's perspective) "I let that be enough." That is the sentence that relates back to the first page and makes me realize that she is finally accepting David but at the same time accepting who she is. Catherine did face some some problems because she did not accept who she was or who David was earlier. She did not know how to accept the people around her that were different (Jason) because she was worried what others would think of her and when they found out they wre dissapointed with her. tell me what you think.Bye
